URGENT ACTION ALERT: Put human rights first

Parliament is set to adjourn for summer holidays in three days. Unless Prime Minister Martin shows leadership and finally ensures passage of the legislation, the equal-marriage bill will be delayed until fall.

After more than two years of debate, three votes in Parliament, eight court rulings, an affirmation of those rulings by the Supreme Court, an election campaign and over 500 witnesses appearing before two different parliamentary committees -- a final decision from Parliament is long overdue!

We are asking MPs to ask the Prime Minister to do whatever it takes to put this issue to a final vote and to let Parliament decide this issue before the summer break. This is within the Prime Minister's power -- he must act.
